CASE STUDY: Citation Buildout Tool Comparison

Overview

This case study reviews and compares the success metrics of four different citation builder tools. All citation builder tools access different domains, and while they can be used concurrently, the ROIs can be very different. Tools 1, 2, and 4 are citation building tools open to the public with links to choose form provided in a menu/ ala carte format. Tool 3 was an aggregated list from a reverse engineer extension tool and were manually created by the BluShark team.

Indexation of these links was done in AHREFs only as it is the primary linkbuilding tool used by the BluShark team. Alternate options to check the indexability of a website include SEMRush, Moz, and Majestic SEO.

Analysis

Overall, the second tool tested had the best ROI, with the most links built for its price point. 

The cost to Tool 3 for this overview is 0, but there was a hard cost of labor incurred. 

Conclusion

Not all citation builders are created equally, and an increase in price does not always mean that more or better links will be created at the end of the build-out phase.
